to Leuchars Flying Club
Why we exist....
The object of the Club is to provide Service personnel with flying instruction and flying in light aircraft as economically as possible, thus encouraging air mindedness and good airmanship.
Who is eligible?
Membership is open to all serving members of the regular and reserve forces and their immediate families. A limited number of places is available to retired members of the regular and reserve forces.
MOD civil servants and MOD contractors may join. Membership may also be offered in some cases to civilians with no military service strictly on the basis that they can be of benefit to the club eg flying instructors.

Robin DR400-120 - One of the nicest aircraft in the sky, French built, easy to fly with an amazing all round view. Subject to weight and balance requirements, it can carry up to four people.
PA38-112 Tomahawk - An ideal training aircraft, well equipped for those aspiring to gain instrument qualifications. It has particularly good endurance for long distance solo flights.
Booking the aircraft
For convenience, this is done online utilising the e-allocator booking system. This allows you to see aircraft availability, enabling you to book a time suitable for you (and an instructor if required).
The booking system is also used to notify members of other activities eg flight safety events.
Committed to excellence in recreational flying
Leuchars Flying Club operates out of the former Royal Air Force station of that name, now home to the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. The airfield is still active as a diversionary landing field for the RAF and home to East of Scotland Universities Air Squadron and 12 Air Experience Flight.
